Announcing: Lost Film's "Imago" LP; Culture Collide Premiere "Something's Missing"

Posted on June 30th, 2015

Lost Film is the minimalist guitar pop project of Jimmy Hewitt based in Northampton, MA. Having formally gone by the moniker of Orca Orca, Jimmy's output of electronic-based pop was prolific – many of those releases were put out by our friends in Disposable America. On August 21st we will be releasing his debut LP Imago. To get us started, Culture Collide premiered the first single, "Something's Missing". One the song, they said:

"Most of Lost Film's music is mellow, understated pop, buoyed by a solid guitar foundation. "Something's Missing," the latest single from Imago, is no exception, as it's driven by a distinct guitar line that alternates between complementing and imitating the melody. A slowed down surf rock track, the song has a catchy, mid-tempo rhythm over which Hewitt's calming vocals become the focal point."

Pre-order Imago on any of the following formats:

– Limited Edition Cassette Tape (Golden Yellow)
– MP3
– Bundles (including a Lost Film t-shirt)

Upcoming tour dates:

9/3 - Boston, MA @ Great Scott - w/ Funeral Advantage, Bent Shapes
9/4 - Easthampton, MA @ The Flywheel - w/ Bent Shapes, Wild Pink, Shakusky
9/5 - Philadelphia, PA @ Everybody Hits - w/ Pill Friends, Cousin Brian, Ghost Gum
9/6 - Brooklyn, NY @ Palisades - w/ Wild Pink, Soft Fangs

Noisey Premiere Planning For Burial's "When We Were Ghosts"; 7" Split with Mother Room Available for Pre-order

Posted on June 29th, 2015

"Thom Wasluck is permanently bummed. Sadness permeates everything he does; he works alone, in shades of gray, with disappointment etched upon his face. Even when he lets loose with a raw-throated howl or bashes a microphone against his forehead, he's channeling despair, not rage ... His music is unfaithful to genre, sidling between doom, post-rock, goth, black metal, drone, shoegaze, and whatever else Wasluck feels like including; such is the luxury of a one-man band, or in this case, a bedroom recording project that found itself unexpectedly plucked from the fringes, splashed across Pitchfork, and deposited on stages with Chelsea Wolfe and Deafheaven. Wasluck's ghostly dirges beckon us closer, and his sparse, nakedly blunt lyrics cut to the bone." – Noisey

Pre-order Split on any of the following formats:

– Limited Edition 7"EP (Coke Bottle Clear and Black variants)
– MP3
– Bundles (including every single Mother Room release thus far)

Announcing: Funeral Advantage's "Body Is Dead" LP; BrooklynVegan Premiere "Sisters" Music Video

Posted on June 25th, 2015

The good people at BrooklynVegan just premiered the music video for "Sisters", the first song we're debuting off of Funeral Advantage's debut album Body Is Dead. On the video they said:

"You may have heard Boston's Funeral Advantage from their recent split with Former Ghosts, or if you live near their hometown, maybe you've seen them with Alvvays or Whirr. Their sound fits pretty well with both of those bands. It's shoegaze drowned in a sea of reverb like the latter, but there's sweet pop melodies under all that haze that are more in line with the former."

More info:

After two years, and multiple EPs and split releases, Funeral Advantage is finally here with a debut full-length album. Titled after the 10-minute long closing track, Body Is Dead serves as an excellent introduction to indie/ dream-pop of Tyler Kershaw, and an even better continuation of his past work. Following on the heels of his most popular release, in the split 7" with Former Ghosts, Body Is Dead incorporates many of the electronic and indie rock elements of that release, but infuses a deeper semblance of pop. This collection of 10 new songs is without a doubt the catchiest and dreamiest thus far. Body Is Dead will be released on August 28th, both digitally and on limited edition 12" vinyl.

Pre-order Body Is Dead on any of the following formats:

– Limited Edition 12"LP (Dirt Maroon and Black variants)
– Tape (Domestic, and Imported Japanese Pressing)
– MP3
– Bundles (including every single Funeral Advantage release thus far)
