Buzz Bands LA Premiere Vow's Music Video for "Charm"

Posted on August 8th, 2014

The people at Buzz Bands LA just premiered the new music video for "Charm"! The song comes off the Make Me Yours 12"EP/ Digital EP, out this Tuesday. Here's what they had to say:

“Make Me Yours,” the second EP of pop noir from L.A. duo Vow, comes out next week, and the dark “Charm,” a song about personal and emotional transparency, is one of its most rapturous meditations. Vow’s principals, singer Julia Blake and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Thomas, wanted to keep it simple in conceiving a video for the song, and they called upon Ryan Sanders — the man behind Touché Amoré “Harbor” video — to direct. “All we wanted was something colorful and visually pleasant,” the duo says. “No cheesy concept or plot, just pleasant and fitting. It had to visually match the mood of this song and we feel he hit the nail on the head with that.” “Make Me Yours” features contributions from Touché Amoré guitarist Nick Steinhardt and comes out via the Native Sound.

Pre-order Make Me Yours on vinyl, and receive and instant download of the entire EP before anyone else. Pre-order on iTunes for an instant download of "Charm". Click here to watch the video.

Chicagoist Premiere Divino Niño's "It's Been Like It Never Used To Be"

Posted on February 28th, 2014

Head over to Chicagoist to stream/ download the new Divino Niño song, "It's Been Like It Never Used To Be". Like "Pink Diamond", which Big Takeover graciously premiered last month, the track comes off the band's upcoming debut LP, Pool Jealousy, out April 8th. Unlike "Pink Diamond", it plays more like a ballad to the aforementioned's upbeat slinky garage-psych. Chicagoist calls "It's Been Like It Never Used To Be" a "pretty, delicate little thing with much of the sound harkening out to western prairies and cowboy campfires", and the upcoming LP, "a simmering mid-tempo affair, filled with diaphanous melodies".

Click here to stream "It's Been Like It Never Used To Be" at Chicagoist.com, and here to pre-order the limited edition vinyl on Translucent Teal and Black variants.
