Funeral Advantage to Release 'Please Help Me' EP; "CEOT7K" Streaming at Consequence of Sound

Posted on January 11th, 2017

Today we're excited to finally announce Funeral Advantage's new EP, 'Please Help Me'. The new EP follows 2015's 'Body Is Dead' LP and will be released on February 24 on limited vinyl and cassette tapes. The first single "CEOT7K" is streaming at Consequence of Sound.

Funeral Advantage have been mostly hermetic since the release of 'Body Is Dead', the band’s 2015 debut album. With the exception of some sporadic touring through the US and Canada, Tyler Kershaw (Funeral Advantage’s sole member) has kept to himself, writing and recording what would be the next chapter of Funeral Advantage – a new EP entitled ‘Please Help Me’.

If 'Body Is Dead' came from a place of hope, 'Please Help Me' comes from a place of desolation and confusion. Written during the disintegration of a long term relationship, the record works through the existential feelings of hopelessness and meaninglessness that followed.

Announcing: Koji – Spring Song, Vol. 1 (Vinyl Reissue)

Posted on December 7th, 2016

We're so honored to announce that we are reissuing Koji's Spring Song, Vol. 1 on vinyl for the first time ever! Emotionally charged, delicate, full, folky and undoubtedly punk, Spring Song, Vol. 1 taps into an urgency that's both uplifting and uniquely poignant.

Spring Song, Vol. 1 is a collection of 10 live songs recorded in living rooms, basements, and punk houses across the East Coast, and was actually Koji's first release with Run For Cover Records, though it was only available on CD at the time.

The record is strictly limited to a one-time pressing of 300 copies spread over two variants – half translucent green / black, limited to 100 copies, and a solid translucent green, limited to 200 copies. Orders will ship late-January 2017, with a digital download of the record delivered to your inbox immediately.

No Sun to Release 'If Only' LP; "Drown in You" Streaming at Impose

Posted on November 9th, 2016

We're so excited to welcome No Sun to the family! We will be releasing their debut album 'If Only' on January 20th on limited edition vinyl, as well as digitally. The first single "Drown in You" is streaming at Impose.

Since their formation just a couple of years ago, Salt Lake City’s No Sun have been quietly crafting loud, confident, and modern shoegaze. Originally a solo project for singer/ guitarist Jordon Strang to experiment with, No Sun has since grown into a nuanced and voluminous four piece.

In the tradition of Swervedriver and Failure, and contemporaries like Nothing and Pity Sex, No Sun’s debut album ‘If Only’ swells with walls of reverb and texture. It’s shoegaze for those who can appreciate the loudest and dreamiest aspects of the genre. Lyrically, the album leans mostly toward introspection and existential doubt, and Jordon's coping with depression, anxiety, and love.

Grave School Release Cock Sparrer Cover for Halloween

Posted on October 31st, 2016

Listen to Grave School's cover of the Cock Sparrer classic "We're Coming Back" at Clrvynt!

"There are a lot of fools in punk rock who try to tough-guy you out of the scene. They'll act like you don't know what you're talking about, like you don't listen to whatever the "right" bands are. Which is why Grave School's cover of Cock Sparrer's "We're Coming Back" is a nice "fuck off" to all that bullshit. The street punk original is reborn via Grave School's attitude, showing that the song is, above all else, catchy as hell and a very sweet kick to the teeth at the same time."

Keep an eye out for a new Grave School EP coming in 2017!
